Trooper

Archetype: Human Hazardous Materials Expert

The shipment of hazardous goods is spectacularly dangerous for many reasons.  First, of course, if the fact that just sniffing it could cause your face to drip off through your butt.  Second, you sometimes have to secretly move your cargo through green nations who like to dispose of toxin smugglers via cliff.  And third, you have a ton of environmental groups with names like Green Happy Land who feel that the best way to stop the creation of hazardous substances is to show everybody how nasty it is by blowing it up.

Trooper, a 65 year old male with a taste for extraordinarily wretched cigars, worked with several military nuke disarmament crews before entering the private sector as a hazardous materials consultant.  While working as an on-site consultant for an obscure African corporation, his employers talked him into a dump and run, meaning he simply had to dash into a neighboring country, drop some hot nuke waste on their dirt, and hurry back.  The operation turned out to be an elaborate setup, and Trooper lost four of his colleagues when his jeep convoy was ambushed near the border.  He managed to make it out in one piece, hightailing it out of Africa after leaving a little present hidden in the basement of the government palace - a slow leak canister of radioactive material. The life expectancy of national leaders hasn't been the same since.

Oddly enough, Trooper thought the whole ordeal was kind of fun.  He now works with a team ex-mercenaries, smuggling waste throughout the world.

Martell

Archetype: Ork Former Mercenary

A horrible fighter, Martell's main contribution to the team has been his strategic mind.  He plans out each run with skill and creativity, arranging everything from bogus border passes to misinformation campaigns regarding where their shipment was going.  He probably would have risen to the leader of the group if it wasn't for his Bill Gates x 50 geek appearance and a voice so high pitched that it can crack reinforced Plexiglas.

Martell is rarely seen with the rest of the group since he is often dashing around the country and world, setting up meets, contacts and so on.  It takes a bit of time before people take him seriously, but he usually have enough cred to compensate for his lack of stature.

Shira

Archetype: Human Former Mercenary

Shira lost her family to a warlord raid in China when she was 14.  She spent the next 10 years infiltrating the military unit that wasted her parents and three sisters, finally reaching a high status as a sniper.  During a birthday party for the commander of the unit she arrived with a small gift, deposited it with the others, and then quietly slipped away.  The ensuing explosion obliterated the entire unit, and two others that happened to be stationed in nearby barracks.

In addition to the sniping skills acquired during her military training, Shira became proficient at the interception and interpretation of information.  While most of this information was obtained second hand or via conventional spying procedures, Shira has since acquired a decent set of decking skills and is chummy with many information experts both inside and outside of the runner/mercenary community.  In addition to acting as a security guard of sorts during waste transport, Shira also works closely with Martell to ensure than any true information that shows up regarding a shipment is quietly eliminated.  And if quiet elimination is not possible, Shira is more than willing to make a special field trip in order to silence a leak.

Commando

Archetype: Human Former Special Forces Commander

Possessing an insatiable thirst for combat knowledge, Commando has worked as a street cop, special ops commander, bodyguard, and UCAS secret service officer.  In addition to providing Commando with a thorough knowledge of the procedures and power of many different breeds of security, these experiences also allowed him to amass a large group of combat oriented contacts on which he can call if a significant amount of support is required for a particular run.  Most hired help is used for only one run, after which they are never called on again.

Entering his early forties, Commando is a contemplative gentleman with a strict code of honor that he insists be followed by any hired guns.  (For this reason he often butts heads with Shira, since a sniper is not his idea of an honorable profession.  However, since Shira is not under his command he can do little but curse through his teeth.)

Terra

Archetype: Elf Rigger

A clever individual with a mind that tends to dwell in realms deeper than most individuals can even peek at, Terra is the ultimate defensive driver, using her rig, mental accelerators, and good old fashion brains to help predict the possible actions of adversaries.  Much like a move by wire system, Terra is fully ready to respond to virtually any unexpected vehicular situation because she is constantly on the verge of executing a maneuver to avoid it.

A backwoods wild child from the mountains of West Virginia, Terra has consistently refused to fold to racial pressure and takes any prejudices against any race as a personal attack on her way of thought.  Physically light framed and ill prepared to fight battles outside of a vehicle, Terra uses her mental processing skills to defeat adversaries in conversation much in the same way she uses them to outmaneuver other vehicles.

Terra has become well trained with an array of tanker vehicles, can pilot Wasps with some proficiency, and is an absolute demon with the Red Ranger ACV she uses for solo runs.
